DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, CAS 62568-57-4) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide first isolated from rabbit brain in 1977, supplied by Cencal wellness in lyophilized format for laboratory and analytical research applications. Originally isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during delta-wave sleep states by Monnier et al., DSIP is synthesized endogenously in the hypothalamus and is found in plasma, peripheral organs, and neurons. As a research tool it is studied in neuroendocrine signaling, circadian rhythm biology, neuropeptide pharmacokinetics, and stress response pathway research in controlled preclinical experimental systems.
